The Iberoamerican Academy of Management invites PDW proposals for the 86th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (July 31–August 4, 2026).
We are especially interested in PDWs that are:

- Interactive
- Inclusive
- Integrative across divisions and perspectives
- Developmental, fostering community building and collaboration

IAOM + Academy of Management Review – Virtual Idea Development Workshop
A virtual workshop designed to help researchers strengthen their theoretical contributions for potential submission to AMR.
Includes small-group mentoring by AMR Associate Editors and Editorial Board members.
Participation is limited to IAOM members.

2025 in Review: What IAOM Has Done This Year

1. Highlighted IAOM 2025 in Madrid and our presence at AOM 2025
- XIII IAOM Conference (Madrid, CEU San Pablo)
- Brought together 200+ research papers and a vibrant Doctoral Consortium.
- Featured keynote contributions from J. Alberto Aragón-Correa, África Ariño, and Ángel Cabrera.
- Organized “Meet the Editors” sessions with leading journals (AMD, AMJ, AMP, JMS, AMLE, SBE, MR, BRQ, Annals, AMR).

- Awarded multiple Best Paper, Thought-Provoking Paper, Best Methodological Contribution, Best Theoretical Paper, Best Practical Contribution, Best Doctoral Consortium, Iberoamerican Management, and Opening New Doors / Resonant Research prizes.
- IAOM activities at AOM 2025 (Copenhagen)
- Co-organized the Iberoamerican Division Doctoral Student Consortium with ECN-ACEDE, including:
- Training Pill 1: Urgent or Important? Time Management Techniques for Research and Well-being
- Training Pill 2: Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Academic Research
- Speed mentoring on publication, methods, internationalization/employability, and dissemination.
- Ran two PDWs with strong IAOM presence:

2. Showcased Management Research as a core outlet for our community
Across the four issues, we regularly highlighted Ahead of Print articles and full issues of Management Research that speak to Iberoamerican contexts:
- Topics covered included:
- ESG, quality management, green innovation, and job satisfaction.
- Digital transformation, digital competencies, and AI-integrated CRM in emerging markets.
- Entrepreneurship and hybrid entrepreneurship, including university entrepreneurial ecosystems and the role of seniors in digital entrepreneurship.
- Poverty, venture creation, and government assistance.
- Tourism entrepreneurship, institutional dimensions, and regional development.
- Organizational behavior, communication satisfaction, work engagement, structural empowerment, supervisor–subordinate relationships, and employee-based brand equity.

3. Curated methods and education resources for researchers
Throughout 2025, the newsletters collected and shared research methods and education content to help the community strengthen its craft:

- Publishing impactful literature reviews and integrative reviews (including work on large language models).
- Guidance on theoretical contribution, empirics in quantitative studies, and bridging the rigor–relevance divide.
- Editorial reflections on mattering, portfolio vs. system of journals, and AI in journal operations.
- From Organization Research Methods and other outlets:
- Conceptualizing and studying mechanisms.
- Advanced analytic approaches for qualitative research.
- Updated evidence on top manager surveys and response rates.
- Methods videos and podcasts:
- Accessing and collecting data in difficult research sites.
- Doing scholarly and impactful research.

- Research skills in the age of intelligent algorithms.
4. Promoted calls, workshops, and series that center Iberoamerican and Hispanic perspectives
The newsletters gathered and amplified calls and initiatives relevant to IAOM members:

5. Created and consolidated “Exchange” as a space for professional mobility
A major structural change in 2025 was the launch and consolidation of the Exchange section as a regular feature:
- Purpose:
- Central space for job postings, academic partnerships, research stays, and mobility opportunities.
- Examples featured:
- Open-rank and tenure-track positions at Universidad San Andrés, Tecnológico de Monterrey, EGADE Business School, IAE Business School, CUNEF University, and others.
- MSCA-PF–aligned and national postdoctoral opportunities at CEU San Pablo University.
- The section also began to act as a call-for-collaborations hub, inviting members to submit announcements via the IAOM email.
6. Strengthened IAOM’s identity and visibility
Across all four newsletter issues, IAOM:
- Positioned IAOM as:
- A bridge between Madrid 2025 and AOM Copenhagen 2025.
- A curator of Management Research content that is regionally grounded and globally relevant.
- A connector between Iberoamerican scholars and global calls, fellowships, and PDWs.
- Encouraged members to:
- Share experiences via #IAOM2025, #IAoMAD2025, and #AOM2025 + #IAOM.
